Hello, my is Whitney Swann and I am a Board-Certified Counselor and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I am a highly skilled mental health professional and counselor educator with a wide range of experience in case management, crisis intervention, clinical supervision, project management, and technical writing. Ultimately, my career goals involve catalyzing strategies to leverage my clinical expertise to create world-class integrated care systems that dismantle mental health stigma, deliver the highest quality care, and empower the whole person, promoting healthier families and communities.
As a scholar-practitioner, my research interests include wellness, integrating neuroscience into counseling practice (neurocounseling), integrated care, clinical outcomes, coping processes, and racial disparities in mental health. My dissertation research examined the effects of a customized brain-based wellness intervention with African American women living with multiple sclerosis (a highly underserved and under researched population).
